Your Musical Memories

The power of music

Music has become even more important for many people since lockdown isolation. mylifeplaylist.uk helps people harness the power of music for their personal use.

Improving quality of life

Listening to music can really help to improve quality of life for an elderly person

Music can be an old favourite or a song that reminds them of a special moment.

mylifeplaylist.uk

provides the opportunity to help individuals and organisations harness the power of music for those who are experiencing loneliness or depression.

Online resources

mylifeplaylist.uk  encourages people to use music to assist friends and relatives who have dementia, whether at home or in a care or residential home.

If they have internet online resources  We can provide a playlist of their musical memories that they can listen to whenever they wish.

Responding positively

My Life Playlist with Musical Memories

will make a difference to those who are

experiencing anxiety, loneliness and

depression, something which is part of

older life.

We are seeking to establish contact with

those who are living in isolation with little

support and may only have occasional

visits from friends and family.

We are working with our existing contacts

with other charities that provide services

in Mental Health and Health and wellbeing

areas and encourage referrals from them.

If you know someone who would benefit

or if you would like to apply yourself then

please do contact us using the online form

Being able to respond to music is the one thing dementia cannot destroy.

mylifeplaylist encourages families and caregivers to create a playlist of personally meaningful music on a digital device for people with dementia.

If you have dementia, the music that has been meaningful in your life – even television theme tunes or seasonal Christmas carols – can make you feel better.

Having access to that music on a device means it is available to you at any time of the day or night.

Family members, either looking after someone at home or visiting them in residential care, find that sharing their loved one’s music can help recover the closeness of a relationship and bring structure to what is often a long day or a difficult visit.
